The Yoga Island family – Kadri and Max Romano.

They live in our immediate neighborhood and give yoga classes both with us and elsewhere in the world, and organize workshops and camps. Read more about them at https://www.facebook.com/theyogaisland/ Max and Kadri are both experienced yoga teachers; Kadri also offers acroyoga workshops and Thai massage.

Hatha / Vinyasa yoga

Hatha and Vinyasa yoga combine calm movement, breathing, and body awareness.

Hatha yoga is slower and more static – it focuses on opening the body and relaxation.
Vinyasa yoga is more flowing – movement and breathing are connected.

Together they create a practice that helps to:

  • release tension
  • improve mobility and balance
  • calm the mind and bring you into the present moment

Suitable for both beginners and more experienced practitioners.

Acro yoga has three faces – elements of yoga, an acrobatic side, and a therapeutic part (Thai massage and therapeutic flying). The pillars of acro yoga are trust, playfulness, and body awareness. In a workshop lasting a few hours for a larger group or even for two people, we go through a long journey from daring to lean on another person to eventually flying on another person’s feet.

Kadri Romano also offers Thai massage, which is done on a mat on the floor and through clothing. A full-body massage lasts up to 2 hours, and during that time the masseur moves smoothly from the tips of the toes to the head. Only by massaging the whole body does the true effect of Thai massage reveal itself.

The basic principles of Thai massage and simpler techniques can also be learned in a couple-of-hours workshop. During it, we do a yoga warm-up that prepares us for the massage that follows. After that, we offer the opportunity to give a massage to your partner yourself under the teacher’s guidance.
